Online registration requires that you have an online donor account with us. The donor account is free and is intended as a way for you to keep track of Buddy Walk info, attendees you are bringing along, as well as submit and track donations counted toward Buddy Walk teams and/or our general fund.

Sport our Buddy Walk t-shirts during the Buddy Walk and support your team! Kids, youth and adult sizes are available from 2T sizes up to 4XL. A credit card or Paypal account is required. You may optionally order t-shirts through your donor account.

The donations you submit toward a Buddy Walk team contribute to their team donation goal. Help your favorite team rank in the top 5 and win an award! You are free to donate to as many teams as you wish. A free online donor account is required to submit donations online.

* You may still create a Buddy Walk team or register for the Buddy Walk in person on the day of the Buddy Walk event. We gladly accept all donations any day of the year!

» A Note About Team Donation Deadlines:

Buddy Walk teams with highest rankings are determined based on team donation totals as of September 29th.

We encourage everyone to continue donating toward your favorite Buddy Walk team(s) even after this September 29th cut-off date, as your donations will still increase team donation totals and help the team reach their donation goal. Team donations will continue to be accepted and counted in this manner up until and including the day of the Buddy Walk event (October 17th).

However, any team donations received AFTER October 17th will no longer be applied toward a Buddy Walk team, and instead be placed in our General Fund.


This year, Buddy Walk will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 am.
Due to budget cuts, lunch will not be served.

BUDDY WALK AGENDA

7:30 am – Registration
9:00 to 9:30 am – Flag and Awards Ceremony
9:30 am – Buddy Walk Begins
9:45 to 11:30 am – Family Fun time with Continental Breakfast, Jamba Juice, Blue Bell Icecream, snow cones, cotton candy, game booths, DJ Ron’s music and dancing, exhibits, moon bounces, rock climbing, pony and train rides, and more fun than you can imagine!


Attention: There will not be any free t-shirts this year. In consideration of costs, shirts for the Buddy Walk are now available for purchase here for $10-$12 each. Remember to pre-order before September 29th, 2009. Thank you!

Anyone wanting a Buddy Walk T-Shirt with correct sizing will need to have orders in by September 29. There will be shirts available to buy at The Buddy Store the day of the Walk for those who are interested, though sizing may be limited.


     We would like to thank everyone for the successful Buddy Walk we had for the 2008 year. The totals have been updated, and any future donations will be placed in our general fund. Thanks again to all those who participated, and we look forward to seeing you for Buddy Walk 2009!

10th ANNUAL BUDDY WALK For Sharing Down Syndrome AZ!

Come join us in our 10th annual Buddy Walk on Saturday October 17, 2009.

The team with the highest donations raised will be awarded our Leticia’s Legacy Award and also a beautufull framed artwork by Michael Johnson who has Down syndrome.

Nominations for Awards

Nominate someone who you feel is “outstanding” and has made a difference in the life of you and your child with Down syndrome.

Categories are:
- Academic Staff (a teacher, principle, para professional etc)
- Healthcare Professional
- Service Providers (therapist, respite/Habiliation, provider company, case manager)

Write a one page letter highlighting what they have done to be so outstanding to you!

Nominate an Outstanding Citizen with Down syndrome!

You can nominate an Outstanding Citizen who is someone who is over the age of 18 and who has Down syndrome. Write a one page letter highlighting what they have done to be so outstanding in the community.
